Abstract

The review analyzes works devoted to the epidemiology of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) in the stage of trophic disorders, as well as risk factors and prevalence of clinical manifestations. The work is aimed at informing practicing physicians about the frequency of occurrence of venous trophic disorders, which by etiology are caused by the consequences of deep vein thrombosis or severe forms of varicose disease. Trophic venous disorders worsen the quality of life of patients and are not only a medical but also a socio-economic problem, and in some cases lead to patient disability. Trophic venous ulcers in post-thrombotic disease are often recurrent and require constant treatment and drug provision. All age groups of both sexes are at risk of developing post-thrombotic disease, and their frequency increases with age. The strategy for preventing the development of post-thrombotic disease consists in the timely administration of anticoagulant and phlebological therapy in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis.
