Abstract

Duplication of the vertebral artery is a rare variant of development, in which the vertebral arteries have two independent origins, which merge distally into a single trunk. As a rule, such anatomy of these vessels is an incidental finding and proceeds asymptomatically, however awareness of it can significantly reduce the risk of possible iatrogenic injury of the vessel or incorrect diagnosis. In this article we present a clinical case of duplication of the right vertebral artery in V1 segment.
