Abstract

The examination of the 3 groups of patients (1st (basic) - those with fast-progressive high myopia combined with glaucoma, with no somatic diseases, 2nd (comparative) - those with slowly-progressive high myopia, with no somatic diseases, 3rd - persons with no somatic and ophthalmologic diseases) resulted in the development of a new hemodynamic index - iridociliary ratio (ICR). Thus, the hemodynamic indices in the posterior long ciliary arteries, particularly the total peripheral resistance index, enable to prognosticate clinical course of high degree shortsightedness and progress of glaucoma at the early stages.
