Abstract

The study included 120 children with different symptomatology who had venous outflow disturbances in deep cerebral veins, 57.5% of them - in cavernous sinus (CS). Hemodynamic disturbance in cavernous sinus (as well as in vein of Galen and in straight venous sinus) is the marker of cerebral venous circulation disturbance. It is practically impossible to examine the child through the orbital window . A new approach of ultrasound transcranial duplex scanning (TCDS) to study anatomic ultrasound features of cavernous sinus, ocular arteries and veins, siphon of internal carotid artery.
