Abstract

59 patients (mean age was 17±2,9 years) with congenital aortic stenosis and 86 patients (mean age was 43±1,9 years) with acquired aortic defect were examined on exercise performance and cardorespiratory system reserves before operation. Peak exercise performance in patients with acquired defects was marked at the age of 20, in patients with congenital defects the exercise performance at this age was minimal. After Ross procedure the functional stress on the left ventricle reduces and patients' exercise performance substantially improves. At the same time in comparison with bioprosthetics after Ross procedure we marked more favorable energetic and hemodynamic provision of exercise stress.
