Abstract

One of the main objectives of surgical correction for postinfarction changes in patients with chronic postinfarction left ventricular (LV) aneurysm is to attain optimal geometry to improve LV systolic function and reduce the symptoms of heart failure. 290 patients evaluation results of the dynamics of the remodeling processes showed that postoperative period is characterized by the formation of three structural- geometric versions of heart remodeling: primary-ischemic, secondary-dilatation and compensatory- hypertrophic.
