Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze orbital circulation in children with weak and moderate myopia using Doppler. The article presents examination data of 82 patients (164 eyes) aged from 7 to 18 years old, 22 of them (44 eyes) with emmetropia, 30 patients (60 eyes) with weak myopia and 30 patients (60 eyes) with moderate myopia. Ultrasound triplex scanning of eyebulb and orbit showed reduction in diastolic component of posterior ciliary arteries blood filling. It can be objective precondition for deteriorating of accommodative apparatus of eye and developing of choroid dystrophic changes in children with myopia. Thus, Doppler helps predict myopia progression in children at early stages.
