Abstract

Surgical results of 77 patients who had survived aortic valve (AV) replacement with criopreserved stentless allografts in the department of acquired heart defects of the Bakulev SCCVS between December 1992 and January 2008 were studied. The age of the patients at the time of the surgery was from 6 to 73 years (mean age 38.2 + 15.8 years). There were 27 (35.1 %) women and 50 (64.9 %) men. It was shown that implantation of allografts into the aortic position provided high level of life quality (LQ) in the late postoperative period which exceeded that of mechanical prostheses implantation and insignificantly differed from life quality of apparently healthy cohorts.
