Abstract

Over the past few decades, the number of venous thrombosis, both deep and superficial veins of the lower and upper extremities, has increased. The occurrence of thrombosis leads to a deterioration in the quality of life of patients, complicates the course of concomitant diseases, lengthens the length of hospital stay, and also increases the cost of treatment. Despite the fact that the understanding of the main mechanisms that lead to the development of post-thrombotic syndrome has improved, gaps remain in the knowledge of pathophysiology, risk factors, prevention and treatment. Recanalization is a favorable phenomenon after acute deep vein thrombosis, but the factors affecting it have not been fully studied. In recent years, cases of neovascularization of venous thrombi have been observed, when small vessels with lowresistant arterial blood flow are visualized in the structure of the thrombus. The article presents such a case of dynamic observation from the stage of occluding thrombus, subsequent neovascularization and restoration of the lumen of the superficial femoral vein.
