Abstract

A literature review was conducted to analyze the existing data on the definition of Doppler criteria for brachiocephalic artery stenosis. The few studies conducted demonstrate high heterogeneity and variability of hemodynamic criteria for stenosis of the common carotid, vertebral and subclavian arteries. Given the complexity of planimetric assessment of the degree of stenosis at the origin of the brachiocephalic arteries, hemodynamic assessment of the degree of stenosis comes to the forefront when determining treatment tactics. However, there are currently no standard cutoff values for lesions of the common carotid artery, brachiocephalic trunk, vertebral and subclavian arteries. Further studies are needed to clarify the hemodynamic criteria for the degree of stenosis of the brachiocephalic arteries.
