Abstract

The influence of physical activity on the functional reserves of the carotid and regional systems of the blood circulation was studied using ultrasonic dopplerography for the vascular pathology of the optic nerve through the dyscirculatory encephalopathy in 75 subjects at biological aging; and 55 subjects among them had the optic nerve pathology. The reactivity index (RY) of vessels was determined when a loading stimulus was applied; and 3 types of vascular reactions were revealed according the measurements of this index. The ability of the carotid and regional vessels to vasodilation in response to physical influence for ischemic opticopathy can be sharply limited or lost at all. The reactivity index RY of the peak systolic velocity (PSV, cm/s) can serve a criterion for the functional reserves of the vascular system.
