Abstract

Comparative analysis of initial and late postoperative geometric and structural morphologic parameters of cardiac cavities in patients with disk mechanical prostheses MIKS and biological prostheses BioLAB was carried out. A total of 28 patients over 60 years of age were studied. 15 persons out of them had mechanical prostheses and 13 persons had biological prostheses. Remodeling algorithms comparison of cardiac cavities reliably showed definite advanced effect in patients with biological prostheses suggesting that cardiac adaptation of an elderly patient to biological prosthesis in mitral position was more comfortable than to mechanical one.
