Abstract

The review is devoted to the up-to-date literature data about the potentialities of phase-contrast magnetic resonance angiography for clinical diagnosis of vascular diseases. Phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging enables fast and accurate measurement of flow velocities and total cerebral blood flow and has shown to be applicable in population-based and retrospective studies. As the high-field MR-scanners are available now in our country, it should increase the interest of practicing radiologists in this noninvasive examination method that extends the possibilities of diagnostic imaging.
