Abstract

The increase of the frequency of detection of nonspecific aortoarteritis (NAA) in recent years is due not only to the improved diagnosis, but also to the increase in cases of NAA. The described clinical case of late diagnosis of NAA in a young patient demonstrates that in the initial stages of its development, NAA has erased, many-faced picture that does not allow to make the correct diagnosis, thereby pushing the beginning of adequate, specific treatment. Even with the existing criteria of the disease systematized in the groups, between the first signs of the disease and the diagnosis can take from 1 month to 10 years, which leads to disability of patients and it is one of the urgent problems of rheumatology and vascular surgery. To another reason for the late diagnosis of NAA can be attributed an increase in “paper” work at the reception, a significant reduction in the time of the doctor for a more thorough anamnesis collection, examination of patients within the “necessary minimum”, the lack of the ability to analyze the available data of clinical and laboratory studies, combined with a large flow of patients. All of this, unfortunately, leads to errors in the diagnosis of quite rare pathologies, to which can be attributed the nonspecific aortoarteritis.
