Abstract

Up to the present Ross procedure has remained a controversy which is caused by its performance complicacy and precision as well as a complex of problems associated with its application consequences. Early and mid-term results of pulmonary artery valve autografting operation in 73 adult patients were analyzed. Pulmonary graft sampling and grafting characteristics do not reduce Ross procedure efficacy in adult patients allowing for aortic valve architectonics restoration as a result of its destruction by infectious process or evident calcification, and effective correction of combined obstruction of left ventricle outlet tract. Application of autograft owing the optimum hemodynamic characteristics according to echocardiography and magnetic resonance imaging data allows for good functional outcomes. Initial signs of xenoconduits calcification in pulmonary position without valve leaflets involvement and with a full preservation of its function are observed in the long-term period.
