Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the influence of volume of hibernated myocardium (HM) on immediate results of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) and cardiac insufficiency. HM diagnostics was performed using combined evaluation of perfusion and myocardial metabolism using single-photon emission computed tomography with 18F-FDG (PET with 18F-FDG). Presence or absence of hibernated myocardium in dysfunctional segments did not influence significantly on perioperative mortality in patients with impaired LV-contractility. Immediate postoperative period in patients with major HM volume is more favorable. Uneventful postoperative period is associated with lesser requirement for assisted circulation, cardiotonic support and lesser duration of assisted pulmonary ventilation (APV).
