Abstract

Anatomic features of spinal blood supply are presented. Characteristics of operative technique in thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic surgeries in view of collateral structure are reviewed. Contemporary methods of collateral blood flow and spinal cord assessment in experiment were analyzed. Experimental data on retrograde perfusion measurement in intercostal and lumbar arteries for diagnostics of collateral bed state are presented. Advantages of two-staged surgeries over single-stage surgeries with regard to anatomy of intercostal and lumbar arteries are noted.
