Abstract

Fast-track becomes a new milestone in the development of the approach to treating a cardiac surgical patient in general and a developing method in cardiac anesthesiology in particular. The Enhanced Recovery After Cardiac Surgery (ERACS) program, according to large international meta-analyses, can reduce the economic costs of hospitals and improve the patient's subjective experience of the hospital and perioperative period.

The key to the success of ERACS is considered by many to be the role of the anesthesiologist in promoting early mobilization through perioperative patient care and, in particular, through the choice of anesthesia techniques, including opioid-free anaesthesia.

The article presents a series of clinical cases of successful performance of various cardiac surgeries using various methods of opioid-free anaesthesia.
