Abstract

Hemodynamic study in patients with congenital heart disease helps to choose individual targeted therapy, that improves early postoperative period. Invasive research methods, for example, the calculation of central hemodynamic parameters by thermodilution technique, are the gold standard in patients with acquired heart valvular disease. However congenital heart defects have abnormal communications between heart chambers so this technique application is impossible and unreliable. This article presents a clinical case of an intraoperative central hemodynamics study after double arterial switching operation in a patient with corrected transposition of the great arteries. Intensive care tactics in the early postoperative period was based on calculated hemodynamic parameters. Comparison of invasive (Swan–Ganz catheters) and non-invasive methods (echocardiography) was performed.
