Abstract

Anesthesiological tactics of the so-called «fast-track cardiac surgery», which allows to wean a patient from mechanical ventilation in the shortest possible time, is a modern trend in cardiac anesthesiology. This tactics helps to reduce the duration of patient's time on mechanical ventilation, duration of stay in an intensive care unit and, potentially, in a hospital. This article presents a clinical case of successful extubation of a patient on the operating table after repeated coronary artery bypass grafting using the new protocol used by the authors.
